The Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainable Resources, Institute of Chemical and Energy Engineering is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate as temporary replacement.

Extent of employment: 15 hours per week

Duration of employment: as of now, limited to 30th of September 2026

Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1

Gross monthly salary: depending on previous eligible experience at least Euro 1.416,10, payable 14 times per year

Responsibilities

• Development of occupational and laboratory safety processes.
• Development of a management system for chemicals.
• Development of a sample management database.
• Programming of programmable logic controllers for pilot plants.
• Participation in research projects in the field of thermochemical biomass conversion.
• Participation in courses in the field of process engineering, for example practical training.

Required skills and qualifications

• Diploma degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other equivalent university degree.
• Good German and English skills.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Experience in participating in technical research projects.
• Experience in planning and constructing pilot plants in the field of fluidized bed technology.
• Scientific experience in the fields of energy process engineering and thermochemical biomass conversion, including combustion, gasification and pyrolysis, is desirable.
• Laboratory experience and knowledge of occupational and laboratory safety.
• Independence, reliability and ability to work in a team.
