The Department of Agriculture, Institute of Viticulture and Pomology is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate.

Extent of employment: 10 hours per week, with the option of increasing funding through third-party funds

Duration of employment: 1st of July 2026, limited to 30th of June 2027, with an option for temporary extension

Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1 lit. b

Gross monthly salary: depending on previous eligible experience at least Euro 1.253,60, payable 14 times per year

Responsibilities

• Independent teaching in Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, viticulture and fruit growing.
• Independent research with the aim of combining basic research and applied research.
• Acquisition, implementation and coordination of experimental research projects in Viticulture & Pomology.
• Co-supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses and dissertations.
• Contribution in the administration and strategic development of the Institute.

Required skills and qualifications

• Doctorate degree or PhD.
• Diploma degree in Agricultural Sciences, Viticulture & Enology, Biology, Plant Physiology or other equivalent university degree.
• Language skills: German B1, English B1.
• In-depth specialist knowledge and scientific practice in the fields of viticulture and plant physiology and applied viticulture, especially topic of the doctoral or master's thesis.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Creativity and enthusiasm for science and teaching and working at a university.
• Ability to work in a team and very good communication skills.
• Experience in knowledge transfer, oral and written, to different target groups.
• Scientific SCI publications.
• Organisational skills and driver's licence B.
