The Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure, Institute of Sanitary Engineering and Water Pollution Control is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate in project employment.
Extent of employment: 30 hours per week
Duration of employment: 1st of May 2026, limited to 30th of April 2030
Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1
Gross monthly salary: depending on previous eligible experience at least Euro 2.832,10, payable 14 times per year
Responsibilities
- Project work within the FWF project DIAMOND, Digital Innovation to Accelerate the Implementation of Nature-based Solutions for Decentralized Wastewater Treatment.
- Development of a model description for treatment processes in Nature-based Solutions including removal of emerging pollutants and pathogens as well as the influence of clogging on system performance.
- Supporting the implementation of the model in the software HYDRUS.
- Writing a dissertation as part of the BOKU Doc School HR21.
- Publication of research results.
- Presentation at scientific conferences.
- Writing scientific publications.
Required skills and qualifications
- Diploma degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, physics, electrical engineering or other equivalent university degree.
- Excellent business fluent written and spoken English, other languages desirable.
- Profound knowledge in the field of numerical simulation and model development.
- Profound software and programming knowledge: R-Studio, Python.
Desirable skills and qualifications
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work independently.
