The Department of Biotechnology and Food Science, Institute of Animal Cell Technology and Systems Biology is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
Extent of employment: 20 hours per week
Duration of employment: as of now, limited to 4 years
Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1 lit. b
Gross monthly salary: depending on previous eligible experience at least Euro 2.466,50, payable 14 times per year
Responsibilities
- Supervision and training of students in practical courses as well as Master and PhD thesis supervision.
- Management and organization of the working group.
- Independent research in synthetic biology and systems biology of mammalian cells, in particular design of studies and experiments including supervision of the lab work of PhD students and evaluation of data.
- Development of new regulatory circuits.
- Evaluation of big data sets, primarily in transcriptomics of CHO and HEK293 cells.
- New approaches for efficient cell line development of high producers, including hot spot identification, targeted integration and host cell engineering both for protein production in CHO and production of gene therapy vectors in HEK293.
- Publication of results.
- Independent acquisition of funding.
Required skills and qualifications
- Doctorate degree or PhD in Animal Cell Technology and Systems Biology.
- English C1 and German C1 language skills.
Desired skills and qualifications
- Experience in Animal Cell Technology and Bioprocessing.
- Genome Analysis, Transcriptomics and Methylome Analysis.
- Production of gene therapy vectors.
- Experience in independent research.
- Ability to integrate into a team and to efficiently communicate.
- Experience to lead a team.
- Experience in supervising master's and PhD students.
