At Koenig & Bauer (AT) GmbH in Mödling/Austria, we are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Trainer (m/f/d) to join our Training Center Team. In this position, you will ensure that both our international customers and internal teams are fully proficient with our advanced machinery.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge Transfer: You will lead the mechanical training and professional development of our customers' technicians for all printing and finishing systems (focusing on machine maintenance and mechanical functions).

  • Theory & Practice: You deliver training content both in theory and practice, based at our Training Center as well as on-site at customer locations worldwide. 

  • Training Management: You are responsible for the end-to-end organization (planning, execution, and follow-up) of customer training sessions.

  • Content Creation: You independently develop, update, and tailor training materials and presentations.

  • Internal Upskilling: You conduct internal training and development sessions for our service and installation technicians.

 


Your Profile: 

  • Solid Foundation: A completed technical qualification or vocational training in the fields of mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or metal technology.

  • Hands-on Experience: Relevant background in mechanical assembly, field service, or technical support (ideally with a focus on mechanics/mechatronics). 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, combined with business-fluent English (written and spoken) for international assignments.
  • Work Style & IT: Proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace, paired with a structured, diligent, and responsible approach to work.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel globally to support our customers on-site.

Statutory Legal Notice: A minimum gross annual salary of €41,270.46 for 38.5 hours per week applies to this position (applicable to graduates of technical colleges or vocational training graduates without professional experience). The actual salary is based on your specific completed education, further training, and relevant professional experience. At the start, it typically ranges between €41,270.46 and €48,412.84 (Entry/Junior level) or €47,546.94 and €65,810.56 (Professional level) gross per year for 38.5 hours per week, plus additional benefits (e.g., travel allowances).

Acht von zehn Banknoten weltweit entstehen auf Maschinen aus Maria Enzersdorf südlich von Wien. Gebaut werden sie bei Koenig & Bauer (AT), einem Betrieb, den viele bis heute unter dem Namen KBA-Mödling kennen. Wer hier anfängt, arbeitet an Technik, die in Sicherheitsdruckereien und Zentralbanken rund um die Welt steht.

Angefangen hat alles 1848. Damals gründete Heinrich Löser in Wien eine Maschinenfabrik, die 1900 nach Maria Enzersdorf übersiedelte und heute als ältester Druckmaschinenbauer Österreichs gilt. Seit 2018 trägt sie den Namen Koenig & Bauer (AT) GmbH und gehört zur Koenig-&-Bauer-Gruppe, dem weltweit ältesten Hersteller von Druckmaschinen.

Gebaut wird in kleiner Stückzahl. Rund 30 Banknotendruckmaschinen verlassen das Werk im Jahr, jede für den Sicherheitsdruck ausgelegt und aufwendig montiert. Die Kunden sind Zentralbanken und staatliche Druckereien in aller Welt. Das ist keine Serienware, sondern Präzisionstechnik, auf die man Jahre wartet und Jahrzehnte vertraut.

Entsprechend breit sind die Berufe. An den Maschinen stehen Metalltechniker und Mechatroniker, in der Konstruktion und der Automatisierungstechnik entstehen die Anlagen zuerst am Bildschirm, und im kaufmännischen Bereich begleitet man einen Auftrag von der ersten Anfrage bis zur Auslieferung. Rund 300 Menschen arbeiten am Standort Maria Enzersdorf, ein zweiter Betrieb steht im niederösterreichischen Ternitz.

Auffällig ist, welchen Platz die Ausbildung einnimmt. Etwa 25 Lehrlinge lernen hier gerade einen Beruf, bei rund 300 Beschäftigten ein hoher Anteil. Sie wachsen in eine Technik hinein, die es so nur an wenigen Orten gibt.
