Your opportunity

As Teamlead of Project Estimation & Project Cost Controlling EMEA you take responsibility for consistent cost management across the entire project lifecycle, from bid estimation through project execution to completion. In this key leadership role, you ensure reliable and competitive cost estimates, high-quality forecasts and transparency across the project portfolio. You further develop common standards, processes and tools, strengthen collaboration between Estimation and Project Cost Controlling and actively shape the ongoing transformation and professionalization of the function.

Your Role

• Lead and develop the Project Estimation & Project Cost Controlling organization, including disciplinary and functional leadership, coaching and performance management.
• Build and further develop an integrated end-to-end organization connecting cost estimation during the bid phase with project cost controlling throughout project execution.
• Ensure competitive, realistic and reliable cost estimates and drive consistent standards for cost assumptions, calculation methodologies and documentation.
• Support Sales, Bid Management and project organizations in commercially relevant decisions during the bidding process.
• Take responsibility for cost controlling across the project portfolio, including forecasting, Cost-at-Completion, variance analysis and management reporting.
• Ensure high forecast quality and transparency regarding project costs, risks and opportunities and provide reliable steering information for Project Management, Commercial Project Management and senior management.
• Harmonize and continuously improve methods, KPIs, templates, processes and digital tools across the organization.
• Establish consistent cost management processes across bid and execution phases and foster systematic knowledge transfer through best practices and lessons learned.
• Drive data-based decision-making and actively contribute to the ongoing transformation and continuous improvement of the function.
• Champion digitalization and automation initiatives within the commercial function by leveraging AI-driven solutions, robotic process automation or other advanced digital tools.

Your profile

• Successfully completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering, engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in Cost Estimation, Project Cost Controlling, Project Controls or Project Finance, ideally within a technology-driven industrial, plant engineering, energy, infrastructure or EPC environment.
• Proven experience in estimating and managing the costs of complex international projects across different stages of the project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, project controlling, forecasting as well as cost and risk management.
• Experience in establishing and further developing standards, processes, KPIs and management reporting structures.
• Strong affinity for digital technologies, process automation and data-driven decision making, with interest in Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and other digital solutions.
• Several years of leadership experience and ability to develop employees and teams, ideally within an international matrix organization.
• Sound knowledge of SAP as well as relevant estimation, controlling and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to structure complex topics and translate them into clear, decision-relevant information.
• Strong ownership and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive change and continuously improve organizations and processes.
• High level of commercial awareness, affinity for numbers and commitment to quality and reliability.
• Confident in working with international stakeholders and across functions, combined with intercultural communication skills. Business-fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
