AT&S is a leading global manufacturer of high-end IC substrates and printed circuit boards. To enhance the successful IT Team at the Headquarters in Leoben, AT&S is looking for a passionate Backup & Storage Specialist.
In this role, you ensure reliable, secure, and efficient backup and storage operations across the IT landscape. You manage storage and backup platforms, support daily operations, and contribute to system optimization and documentation.
Your Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Veeam B&R, Veeam ONE, deduplication appliances, and HPE tape systems.
- Design, monitor, and optimize backup, recovery, and data protection services across virtual, physical, cloud, and Kubernetes environments.
- Administer and support backup and recovery solutions for Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell, Bash, and API-based automation scripts for operational tasks, reporting, monitoring, and recovery workflows.
- Plan and execute file servers, NAS, and data migration projects while ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption.
- Manage tape infrastructure, media rotation, offsite vaulting, and long-term retention solutions.
- Perform restores, disaster recovery testing, and recovery exercises for critical business services.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and recovery runbooks.
- Collaborate with VMware, Linux, Windows, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable data protection services.
Your Profile
- Completed education in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in backup and storage infrastructure administration.
- Proven experience administering enterprise backup and recovery solutions, preferably Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE.
- Hands-on experience with backup and recovery of Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, or similar technologies.
- Experience operating enterprise tape libraries, media management, and long-term retention solutions.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of VMware, Windows Server, Linux, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Practical experience with file server migrations, NAS migrations, and large-scale data migration projects.
- Experience working with SMB/CIFS and NFS file sharing technologies.
- Fluency in English; German is a plus.
