Job Introduction

Frequentis Group with headquarters in Vienna is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. Frequentis ensures that air traffic safety demands are matched with the appropriate network technology. This is critical to increase airspace capacity, enhance safety and reduce the cost per flight by bringing the available building blocks together in one tailored ATM voice solution.

Key Tasks

• You are part of an engineering team and are responsible for the technical solution in a customer project.
• Ensuring the successful implementation according to the delivery project milestones.
• You are the technical contact person for customers and internal interfaces in ongoing projects across different continents.
• You are responsible for leading the overall system design, setup and configuration of the system architecture of standard IT and network components as well as Frequentis products in a safety-critical environment.
• You analyse customer requirements and translate them into system requirements to evaluate technical feasibility of the final design.
• Technical risk management, including security and safety aspects, is part of your tasks.
• You steer and clarify detailed customer use-cases for zero gap implementation in R&D.
• You help design the system architecture and optimise the system from a cost-benefit perspective.
• You work with and lead a technical team to ensure projects are completed successfully through efficient problem solving.
• Through close cooperation with the commercial project manager, you lead system engineers around the world and ensure project success.

Key Qualifications

• Completed technical education HTL/FH/TU.
• At least 10 years of experience as top expert in an IT, software or telecommunication area in delivery projects, ideally as a System Engineer, Technical Solution Manager or System Architect.
• Technical background in IT including Linux, virtualization and container technologies, SIP/RTP for voice communication and network technology.
• Solid understanding of network design, configuration, integration, troubleshooting and monitoring tools such as Zabbix, ELK or OpenSearch.
• Experience in mission-critical, IT security or safety-related domains is an advantage.
• Network certification such as CompTIA or Cisco is an advantage.
• General passion for IT, automation and DevOps.
• Background in the ATM area is a plus.
• Communicative and open-minded personality with very good social and negotiation skills.
• Solid understanding of financial aspects.
• Holistic understanding of system functionality and interdependencies to ensure system health and scalability.
• Willingness to travel worldwide up to 30%.

Salary

The remuneration for this position consists of the collective agreement minimum salary of EUR 50,055 gross per year based on a 38.5 hour week plus an overpayment in line with the market depending on professional qualifications and experience.
