The Faculty of Psychology includes the Dean's office, a StudyServiceCenter and four Departments. We are seeking candidates for a half-time non-tenured postdoc position at the Department of Cognition, Emotion, and Methods in Psychology. The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with Prof. Claus Lamm and his team at the Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Unit.

The SCAN-Unit investigates topics in Social Cognitive Neuroscience, with a focus on empathy, prosocial behaviour and environmental social neuroscience.

Your future tasks

• You participate in research, teaching and administration.
• You are involved in research projects and studies in social, environmental and decision neuroscience.
• You program experiments with human participants in behavioral, neuroimaging and online settings.
• You analyse empirical data from your own and collaborators' experiments and studies, including complex behavioral and neuro-cognitive datasets.
• You support team members in advanced data analyses, with a focus on computational modeling and Bayesian analysis approaches.
• You teach courses in neuro-cognitive and behavioral data science and computational modeling.
• You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality

• Completed PhD degree or Diploma, e.g. in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Data Sciences or Statistics.
• Advanced experience in academic writing and research methods.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and German at C1 level.
• Expertise in scientific computing with R, Python or Matlab.
• Experience with computational models of cognition and probabilistic programming languages such as Stan, Turing or Tensorflow.
• Experience with advanced Bayesian inference approaches is highly desirable.
• Expert knowledge in social and computational neuroscience.
• Team player with strong communication skills, autonomous working style and problem solving abilities.
