The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking to fill a PraeDoc position for a period of four years. This includes the participation in research projects on novel cancer therapeutics and cancer senescence.

The MMCT research laboratory at the Department for Pharmaceutical Sciences focuses on the development of novel nucleic acid-based therapies and biotherapeutics, with a special emphasis on the treatment of malignant tumors. To this end, vectors are developed using biochemical and molecular biological methods and evaluated in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo in appropriate tumor models.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You will be involved in research projects and research studies.
  • We expect you to finalise your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
  • You will work on and finalise your dissertation.
  • You will teach courses independently in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
  • You will be responsible for administrative activities in research and teaching.
  • Participation in publications and scientific articles.
  • Lecturing activities.
  • Supervision of students.
  • Involvement in the organisation of meetings, conferences and symposiums.
  • Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration.

This is part of your personality:

  • Completed Master's/Diploma degree in the field of pharmacy.
  • Relevant expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology.
  • Methodological competence and didactic competence.
  • High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • IT user skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Teaching in biochemical methods, protein biochemistry and cell culture techniques.
  • Experience with scientific research work with nucleic acid based vectors.
  • Desirable qualifications include teaching experience or experience of working with e-learning, knowledge of university processes and structures, experience abroad, and basic experience in research methods and academic writing.

Contract duration: The duration of the contract at the time of employment is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-extension within the first 12 months.

Fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 3.776,10 on a full-time basis increases if professional experience can be credited.
