Sportradar is seeking an Engineering Manager to act as a technical catalyst within the iGaming division. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on defining engineering culture and architectural vision for sports-based casino games, translating product strategy into scalable technical roadmaps, and empowering developers through modern engineering methodologies including AI-driven development.

The Challenge

• Architectural Vision: Lead the design and evolution of resilient, low-latency, distributed architectures for iGaming products handling massive concurrency, real-time video, and sports data streams.
• AI-Augmented Engineering: Champion AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Cody, and define standards for AI-assisted code generation, documentation, test-case generation, and legacy code refactoring.
• Engineering Excellence: Guide teams in test-driven development, security-first design, and clean-code principles.
• Cross-Team Enablement: Bridge front-end, back-end, and infrastructure teams to ensure product delivery and technical alignment.
• Hands-On Technical Leadership: Support critical path issues, complex problem-solving, refactoring, and high-stakes feature implementation.
• Mentorship & Growth: Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and foster continuous learning and autonomy.

About You

• Experience: 10+ years of software development experience, ideally in iGaming, betting, or high-concurrency real-time gaming sectors.
• Tech Stack: Expert-level proficiency in Java/JVM ecosystems and modern front-end frameworks such as React and TypeScript.
• AI Fluency: Experience using AI coding assistants in secure, enterprise-grade engineering processes.
• System Design: Ability to architect complex distributed cloud systems with deep AWS expertise including ECS, EKS, RDS, and S3.
• Influence: Ability to influence technical direction across multiple squads.
• Communication: Ability to translate complex technical constraints into business risks and opportunities.

Preferred Skills

• Expertise in low-latency game engine architecture for mobile or browser-based products.
• Experience building and scaling real-time video streaming solutions.
• Knowledge of global iGaming regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
• Strong understanding of DevOps as a culture.

The minimum monthly salary for this position is according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement; overpayment will be considered depending on qualifications and working experience.

Sportradar is an office-first business operating on a fully on-site model, with team members working in the office five days a week. Certain exemptions may apply depending on location.
