Advanced Mechanical Systems Engineer (f/m/d)

In this key engineering role, you will contribute to the development of future semiconductor equipment operating at the limits of precision, dynamics and mechatronic performance. You will work on highly sophisticated systems where mechanics, motion control, physics, materials and process technologies interact. Beyond product development, you will help strengthen the overall technical capability of the mechanical engineering organization through your expertise, analytical thinking and innovative approach to complex engineering problems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative concepts for next-generation semiconductor equipment and advanced packaging platforms
  • Translate challenging system requirements into robust mechanical and mechatronic solutions
  • Design and develop ultra-precision motion systems, advanced mechatronic assemblies, and vibration-critical mechanisms for high-performance applications
  • Apply engineering calculations, simulation methods and analytical approaches to support technical decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with experts from System Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Vision, Motion Control and Software
  • Drive development activities from concept generation through prototyping and series implementation
  • Evaluate new technologies, materials and manufacturing approaches to further improve product performance
  • Contribute technical expertise and help establish future engineering standards and best practices within the organization
  • Support and mentor engineers within the department through strong technical competence and systems-oriented thinking

Your Background

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or a related technical discipline
  • Several years of experience in the development of complex mechanical or mechatronic systems
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, system interactions and physical principles
  • Experience with simulation-driven development, engineering calculation methods or analytical design approaches is highly desirable
  • Solid knowledge of high-precision equipment, automation systems, robotics, semiconductor equipment, medical devices, optics, aerospace or other advanced technology industries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and solution-oriented mindset
  • Curiosity for new technologies and willingness to challenge conventional solutions
  • System engineering mindset with the ability to understand complex interdisciplinary interactions
  • Fluent English skills and ideally good German language proficiency

  • Experience in simulation-based design and development
  • Exposure to mechatronic systems and precision motion technologies
  • Understanding of dynamic, vibration-critical or high-precision machinery
  • Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to the technical development of the broader engineering organization

The annual gross salary starts at €75,000. Depending on your qualifications, professional experience and overall profile, Besi offers a competitive compensation package with significant room for negotiation.
